The Pig Hotel - Brockenhurst, United Kingdom
Rates from £125 per night · Rural Retreats · 26 rooms

Overview

The Pig Hotel, Brockenhurst is the baby sister of Lime Wood with a little attitude! It is a bang up to date take on a new style of home grown, 26 bedroom country house hotel. A shabby chic sty that is perfect for romantic weekends.
Home grown in every way – breaking the mould of designed hotels, daring to be comfortable in its own skin, working with what it has and recognising what is good about that. It won’t be perfect, it will be warm, relaxed, comfy, interesting, and homely with muted colours, a bit shabby chic and evolved rather than interior designed. The Pig is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle.

Know Before You Go

Rooms:
The Pig has great rooms to compliment the food - 26 of them comprising 15 in the main house and 11 in the stable yard . In the main house bedrooms are a continuation of the home grown theme - evolved rather than designed - a lot of using what we have and making the new elements the things that really matter outlooks.

In the stable yard we have created something a bit different, converting the Stables and Piggery into duplex suites and rooms with their own courtyards with original and retained features like original stable partitions and fittings.

All have farmyard names such as The Piggery, The Pig House, The Pig Shack.

Facilities:
The meeting room is called The Green Room. This fantastic private room is next to the wine cellar with a feature fireplace – a glass wall separates you from the restaurant allowing you to feel the buzz if you wish or draw the curtain for a little more privacy. The Pig can accommodate 14 guests Boardroom style, this room is perfect for private lunches and dinners too. Exclusive use is subject to availability.

Features:
The Pig is surrounded by, and has direct access into, the 1000 year old New Forest National Park. Our grounds include many outside areas for simply lazing around - created as ‘rooms’ for you to sit, soak up and savour the forest and gardens over a glass ,or a plate or two.

Take a wander around to discover hammocks between the trees, the odd bench placed in a little tranquil corner and a wood fired oven in the courtyard for those al fresco dining days.

Dining:
Overseen by chef James Golding (ex Mark Hix – Ivy, Caprice, Sheekys and Soho House New York). James’s key two lieutenants won’t be his sous chefs but his forager and his kitchen gardener. This is an utterly genuine reinvented way of running the kitchen, the menus will change by the minute depending upon what the forager turns up with or what the kitchen gardener deems to be in perfect condition.

Home grown with clarity of flavour, true to the micro seasons and influenced by the forest will be the drivers of the food style. Our further commitment is the 15 mile menu - whereby some 95+% of fresh ingredients will be sourced in the local home area.

The duo will be such a vital part of the culinary mix that The Pig’s menus will change not so much daily but hourly, subject to what Garry unearths or what Mike deems to be in perfect condition. Served in an authentically reproduced Victorian greenhouse dining room, complete with bare wood table tops and mismatched bone handled cutlery, a meal at The Pig will be a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
